Indroduction

Department of Parliamentary Affairs was looked after by the Department of Law and Justice till October  1985. In the  All  India  Whips  Conferences organized by the  Union  Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, direction was given to all State  Governments to set up separate Department of Parliamentary affairs in the States for effective interaction between various  Government  Departments and the   Legislatures. Heeding to the recommendation, a separate  Department of Parliamentary Affairs was set up in  Nagaland  through a  Notification   N0. AR-4/2/82 dated the 15th October 1985.

Major Activities of the Department;

1.                   Conduct Parliamentary Quiz/ Programmes  for the students  every year.

2.                   Youth Expedition/Parliament/ Parliamentary Conferences/Seminar etc.

3.                   A research Cell-Cum-Library is established which was inaugurated by  Shri. Neiphiu  Rio,  Honourable  Chief  Minister of Nagaland on 27th November 2006 at  Administrative Training Institute  (ATI).  It is shifted to the State Library building on 21st September  2007 with some genuine reasons

This Research Cell-Cum-Library is for  Old  and  Young, anybody can  register as  member.

** Accession Number from 1 to  4216 :Different kinds of subjects and 171 nos of Anti Defection Law Books are available in the Research Cell-Cum-Library. **
