MINISTER R&B G. KAITO ADDRESSES ZUNHEBOTO DPDB
The Zunheboto
District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on 25th August 2009 at DCs conference hall, Zunheboto. The Minister for Roads
& Bridges Kaito Aye, while addressing the board members said that the Cabinet has
already taken a decision for upgradation of Government High School, Aghunato to that of Higher Secondary School at as it fulfills the required criteria. He said that the state
Cabinet has approved setting up of an HSLC Exam Centre at Aghunato, for which the Treasury
at Aghunato is expected to be restored soon. He said that the Board should recommend that
the State Bank should resume functioning at Aghunato. He highlighted the need for posting
SDPO at Aghunato for which the board discussed and decided to recommend on priority. The
Minister also requested all the heads of offices to be ready for the forthcoming Road Show
at Zunheboto as it is an initiative taken to keep the Nagas together. He exhorted them to
bring out their best to showcase during the event, adding let us respect ourselves
and let us be competitive and responsible.
Parliamentary
Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Dr. K.C. Nihoshe spelled out necessary works to be
done prior to the forthcoming Road Show. He requested the DSO Zunheboto to see that the
ongoing construction works of the Badminton auditorium be completed before the Road Show
event. On this, the DSO apprised that at least Rs. 25 lakhs is still required for
completion of the building. MLA & Chairman, DPDB, Shetoi requested the officer
concerned to submit the data through the Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto. The board
requested Horticulture Department officials to exhibit mushroom cultivation, floriculture
and kiwi fruit cultivation, which is abundant in and around Zunheboto. PWD & CAWD
departments were given charge for necessary renovation to be done at Circuit House where
VVIPs would be accommodated. EE, PHED was requested to maintain proper water connectivity.
Other agenda
discussed in the meeting included upgradation of the following posts at Atoizu - AFA to
that of SDAO (Agri); VFA to that SDO (Vety); posting of SDIO at Atoizu and upgradation of
Police outpost to that of Police Station. These were discussed by the board and approved
for recommendation to higher authority. With regard to HSLC exam to Pughoboto the board
decided to recommend to the higher authority, and regarding the retrieval of school
auditorium, Government High School, Zunheboto back to the school authorities the board
recommended the Town Council Zunheboto to take charge until the new town hall is
constructed but who allow the GHS to hold any function without charging fees. Earlier the
Chairman DPDB thanked the senior Ministers for giving him the opportunity to be the
Chairman of DPDB, Zunheboto. He requested the heads of offices to contribute their wisdom
for the development of Zunheboto district. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner,
Zunheboto, Zachive Thele.

DC KOHIMA ADDRESSES CENSUS TRAINING
Deputy
Commissioner, Kohima & Ex-Officio Chairman DMA (SSA), Beiu Angami addressed the
inaugural programme of the training on Household Child Census 2009 & Out of School
Children Survey 2009 at DCs Conference hall, Kohima this morning.
Exhorting the
participants the DC said that the census operation is of utmost importance and the
personnel carrying out the process should be careful while collecting the data so that
there is no criticism from any quarters. He also said that the public should give the
correct information and cooperate with the personnel involved. He said that the Household
Child Census & Out of School Children Survey is a policy of the Government of India
which is trying to formulate strategies to utilize the school drop outs. Accordingly, the
DC said that all the States have been directed by the Government of India to carry out the
census operations. He hoped that the census operations carried out would be a success and
to the satisfaction of the higher authorities.
In his welcome
address, DEO cum District Coordinator, DMA(SSA), Kohima, Zaveyi Nyekha in his welcome
address said that the objective of the SSA about peoples movement and all concerned
should work together for the education of the children.
The programme
was chaired by Project Assistant (SSA), Kohima, Ruokuoneinuo. Resource persons for the day
long programme included Assistant Programmer, SMA (SSA), Nagaland, Akum Aier and Research
Associate (RA), SMA (SSA), Nagaland, Khukiye Awomi.

MMC INCREASES TO 18 WARDS
Mokokchung
Municipal Council (MMC) will now consist of 18 (eighteen) wards with the approval of three
more wards by the state government namely, Marepkong, Mongsen phai and Lijaba Lijen wards.
Detailed
boundary of the three additional wards had been demarcated through a notification issued
by the Department of Urban Development, Municipal Administration Cell, for the purpose of
election of a member of Municipal Council from each of the three wards. Boundary
demarcations of the three wards are as follows:

SENIOR DEPUTY ACCOUNTANT GENERAL (A&E) INFORMS
The Office of
the Senior Deputy Accountant General (A&E) has informed all HoDs, Government of
Nagaland that the annual GPF statements for the year 2008-09 will be issued from its
office as per the following schedule. All HoDs are hereby requested to deploy their
respective Nodal Officers, preferably a Gazetted Officer, along with the letter of
Authenticity under the seal and signature of the HoD to collect the same on the assigned
dates.

NATIONAL TRADE FAIR 2009 UNDERWAY AT MOKOKCHUNG
A joint effort
of Longpangshujung Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society, Ungma and North-East Trade Fair
Association (NETFA) got underway on 25th August 2009 at Mokokchung Town Hall with Chief
guest, Amenla SDO (Civil) Mokokchung inaugurating the Fair.
Speaking on the
occasion, the chief guest lauded the organizers for their ambitious effort. She mentioned
that this can be an avenue especially for local entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and
information about marketing strategies to set up our own Trade Fair in the near future.
She said denizens of Mokokchung should visit the Fair and go through the various products
from different parts of the country and also from countries like, Iran, Malaysia Indonesia
and Bangladesh, which are not usually available in our market. According to the
organizers, there will be around 40 to 50 stalls. The Fair will continue till the 9th September 2009.

RSBY HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME IN PHEK DISTRICT
The Ministry of
Labour (GoI) in collaboration with State Government Department of Labour introduced and
launched RSBY Health Insurance Scheme in the state to provide protection to poor
households against health risk and to those living Below Poverty Line under the RSBY
Health Insurance Scheme. The nine member team led by Project Officer, Labour Department of
India, Yanger Aier has covered three districts, Kohima, Peren and Mokokchung and reached
Phusachodu village on 26th August 2009 to provide smart card to beneficiaries.
The Village
Council Members and leaders also held a meeting with the team where Sr. District Labour
Officer Phek, Ekhahu Rosse introduced the members of the team and explained the benefit of
RSBY Scheme to the villagers. Photographs of 307 families were taken for providing smart
cards and the team also explained that with the card they can avail medical treatment from
the next coming month. The team will head to Chozuba and are expected to cover the whole
of Phek district by the coming month.
