DPDB  PHEK  TO  MEET  ON  10th  SEPTEMBER

 

            All District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) members of Phek District have been informed that the next DPDB meeting scheduled on 10th September 2009 will be held at the Indoor Stadium, Phek Town. All the members concerned are requested to take note and attend the said meeting. The time of the meeting is 11 a.m. as usual, according to Phek Deputy Commissioner, Mikha Lomi.

IT&C  DEPARTMENT  ON  GUIDELINES  FOR  INDIAN  GOVERNMENT  WEBSITES

 

            Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of Information Technology & Communication, K.T. Sukhalu, IAS in an office memorandum stated that the Government of India, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology has formulated guidelines for Indian Government websites. The key focus and thrust of there guidelines is to ensure that Government websites must be accessible to people using assistive devises/technologies so that they can be benefit equally from e-governance initiatives. These guidelines can be downloaded online at http://web.guidelines.gov.in for strict compliance of the Department.

SPECIAL  CAMPAIGN  TO  ELIMINATE  BOGUS  RATION  CARDS

 

            I am to refer the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, reminders to the State Government to carry out intensive campaign for review of the existing lists of BPL and AAY families and ration cards issued to them by verifying and cross checking details of each of such families and the units in ration cards so as to eliminate the eligible and bogus ration cards and units. This will ensure effective delivery of foodgrains to eligible BPL families under the TDPS by curbing diversion, leakages and elimination of bogus BPL and AAY Ration Cards.

            Therefore, the ADS, SOS, Inspectors and SK’s have been directed during the meeting held on 3rd September 2009 in the Directorate of F&CS to take up this campaign preparation with immediate effect and conduct extensive campaign i.e. house to house survey of existing BPL and AYY families in the state, under the supervision of concerned District/Sub-Divisional Administration with the assistance of VDBs, VCCs, Municipal councils and Town Committees concerned.

            The outcome of this campaign with details should be submitted to the Director (F&CS) on or before 31/11/2009 for compilation and onward submission the Government for necessary action and further submission to the Government of India.

DC  KOHIMA  ON  PETROL  PUMP  STRIKE

 

            Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Beiu Angami has stated that the petrol pumps in the State are not taking part in the 72 hour strike which is coming into effect from 8th September 2009 across the North-Eastern states in support of their charter of demands including pay hike.

            The petrol tankers in the State are arriving as usual and the DC has therefore informed that petrol will be available normally and has requested the public not to panic over the matter.

MELURI  SDPB  MEETING  HELD

 

            The monthly Sub-Division Planning Board meeting was held on 7th September 2009 at ADC office chamber. ADC Meluri Peter Lichamo as chairman of the board discussed at length on the development and improvement of the Sub-Division. He also asked all head of office to give their fullest cooperation in the forthcoming in the forthcoming Road Show and Yemshe festival to be held on 2nd October 2009 at Meluri.

            ADC Meluri was dismayed over the poor attendance of departmental heads as majority of the departments were represented by subordinate officers and junior staff. He cautioned that the officers that failed to attend the next meeting shall be viewed seriously and reported to higher authority.

            Around 15 members including the Vice Chairman Adhoc Town Committee attended the meeting.

TEACHERS  DAY  CELEBRATED  AT  MELURI

 

            Combined Teachers Day celebration consisting of 3 high schools and 3 primary schools was held at Meluri local ground on 5th September 2009. ADC Meluri Peter Lichamo as the chief guest gave his sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the teachers for it is the teacher that lay the foundation for creating enlightened citizens of the nation. He also encouraged the students while reminding the great Educationist Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on whose birthday Teachers Day is celebrated and it is a very important day for the students to say ‘Thank You’ to the teachers.

            Highlights of the day include special songs and choreographies from students of various schools. Earlier award were given away to teachers from different schools under Meluri Sub-Division. The awardees included Shiekutho Assistant Teacher, Government High School Meluri; Daisy Assistant Teacher, Christian Mission School Meluri; P. Neicha Primary Teacher, Government Primary School New Akhegwo; Tsimatho Graduate Teacher, Government Middle School Meluri; Lhingkhonei Primary Teacher, Government Primary School Kanjang; Khiwinsanthü Primary Teacher, Government Primary School Phokungri; Churhotho Primary Teacher, Government Primary School Moke and Rhoshutho Primary Teacher, Government Primary School Matikhrü.

            More than 400 people including teachers and taughts attended the function. DIS Meluri Deo Tukru chaired the function.

FREE  MEDICAL  CAMP  HELD

 

            Jiji Club Meluri organised free medical camp at Akhegwo and Khumiasü villages on 5th and 6th September 2009. All together 6 doctors with different specialist and host of nurses and technicians from CHC Meluri manned the medical camp.

            The doctors present include Dr. Khuotsütho, Gynaemist, Sr. Medical Officer Kisairi; Dr. Zhimatho ENT, SMO Kiphire; Dr. John, MO Meluri; Dr. Zuvithsü, MO Meluri; Dr. Kuotho, MO Bethel Hospital Kohima; Dr. Akhrie MO Dentist CHC Meluri.

            According to official source of Jiji Club 230 patients were attended at Akhegwo out of which 15 patients were administered family planning and 23 patients were given dental care.

            At Khomiasü village 128 patients were treated out of which 18 patients were given dental care. Jiji club also added that the whole expenditure exceeded more than 1 lakh.

STATE  LEVEL  SCIENCE  SEMINAR  AT  KOHIMA

 

            The State Level Science Seminar 2009 will be held at GHSS Kohima on 9th September 2009 at 10 a.m. with Vice Chancellor Nagaland University, Prof. K. Kannan as the Chief Guest.

            The seminar will be held on the topic ‘Chandrayaan! Promise and Concern’ and the inaugural programme will be chaired by Director School Education Nipusilie Angami.

            The closing function and prize distribution will be held in the afternoon with Deputy Director School Education K. Phesao as the chairman while Joint Director School Education V. Meyase will give away the prizes.

ZUNHEBOTO  DPDB  MEETING  HELD

 

            The monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting for Zunheboto was held on 8th September 2009 at DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of DC Zunheboto & Vice Chairman DPDB Zunheboto, Zachive Thele.

            At the outset the board reviewed the minutes of the last DPDB meeting. Proposal for opening of a new medical Sub-Centre at Lukhuyeunder Aghunato Sub-Division was deliberated. The board deferred the agenda to next DPDB for want of technical support from the concern department. Gant-in-aid to new Era School Zunheboto, Kidies Lane School Zunheboto and Step by Step School Zunheboto was recommended for action by the higher authority. Earlier the chairman introduce 8 new members to the board. Govind Daiswal IAS SDO (C), S. Atsangh EAC, T. Lenulita Sangtam EAC, Dr. Kuzo Vadeo, EAC, Mhomo Thungoe EAC, K Kare, DSO (Seri), Kakügha S. Rotokha, DIS Aghunato and Kuniho Headmaster Aghahaika. With a word from the chair the meeting ended.

MEETING  ON  ROAD  SHOW  HELD

 

            Meeting on Road Show was held at Zunheboto with head of offices and NGOs of the district on 8th September 2009 with Zachive Thele DC as the chairman. The Road Show which was scheduled to be held during the Ahuna festival in November 2009 got ground works preparations. Different department was allotted for taking charge of different responsibilities during the Road Show. The 3 departments, Industry, PWD (R&B) and Power departments were entrusted as the nodal departments for the Road Show.

            The chairman appraised that, responsibilities so assigned are to be carried out with utmost concern. He impressed the head of offices that it is a matter of pride to showcase our culture we must all begin our ground work preparations he added and requested all Sub-Committees to submit various financial implications to the estimate committee for necessary action before 20th October 2009.

AO  STUDENTS  CONFERENCE  OPENED  FREE  COACHING  CLASS

 

                A programme was held at Dilong Government High School Mokokchung on 7th September 2009 to mark the inauguration of free coaching classes for students who have failed in the last HSLC Examination, which is being initiated and sponsored by the AKM (Ao Student Conference). Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung C.M. Tsanglao, while delivering a short speech thanked and appreciated the AKM Officials for their selfless and commendable work extended towards the student community. 5 (five) experience teachers would give coaching in mathematic, Science and English papers. At present there are 30 students enrolled for the coaching classes.

CD  ON  LEARNING  COMPUTER  &  INTERNET  AVAILABLE

 

            Nagaland Geographical Information System (GIS) under the Department of Planning and Coordination has brought out a CD on ‘Learning Basic Computer’ and ‘Learning Basic Internet’ both in English and Nagamese version, to promote Information Technology literacy for the development of human resources under the programme ‘Year of Capacity Building, 2008-2009’.

                Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, C.M. Tsanglao informed all out post administrative officers to collect the CD from his office to circulate the same to all schools, colleges, government/private offices, village council chairman, VDB Secretaries and other organizations etc in their respective jurisdiction.

            The Deputy Commissioner further informed all the schools, colleges, government/private offices within the Mokokchung town to collect the CD from his office.

NATIONAL  NUTRITION  WEEK  OBSERVED

 

            National Nutrition Week was celebrated here at Phek District headquarter in DWO office premise, Phek from 1st –7th September 2009.

            The resource person Imli Tomzuk CDPO, Pfutsero who spoke on the topic ‘Nutritional Programme in the department’ and highlighted like proper feeding to child from 0-6 years of age, proper care to pregnant and lactating mother, initiating nutritional value for adult adolescence women’s and schemes for destitute women.

            Tsusi Joshou CDPO, Meluri also spoke on the topic “Importance of nutrition relating to Children, Pregnant women and nursing mother” and he emphasized the important of beast feeding and special nutritive food should be provided at an early age. He also said, food contain like iron, calcium, protein, etc.

            During discussion and interaction hour, the moderator was Imlitongzuk, CDPO, Pfutsero. The function was chaired by Kikruma CDPO, Anyile Khamo while welcome addressed was delivered Meshusayi Tetseo, Welfare Inspector, Phek and vote of thanks was pronounced by Atsole Khalo, Supervisor, Phek. Prayer was invoked by Vekruyi Nyekha, SAA, Phek. All the CDPO’s, Supervisors and workers under Phek district attended the programme.

PROTEST  PEACE  RALLY  AT  WOKHA

 

            To protest against the accused and condemn the rape and murder of Lt. Roshila Humtsoe, Kyong Eloe Hoho, Kyong Hoho and the Kyong Students Union jointly organised protest peace rally at Wokha town today. Around 3000 protestors took the streets of Wokha town carrying placards, some of which read, ‘No mercy should be shown to the rapist, respect women chastity, perish miyas and save Naga women’.

            The chairman Kyong Hoho, Yansathung Jami while addressing the gathering at the rally appealed to the NGOs, government agencies and other organisations to co-operate in their fight for justice.

            The rally culminated at local ground where officials from the three frontal parties of the Kyong Community marched towards the DC’s office and submitted a memorandum with the following demands:-

1.         That, on arresting of all accused the trial be started without any delay and punishment be awarded as per the provision of the la under which they have committed the offence. The punishment should be exemplary so that such offence would not be repeated in future and no bail be granted to any of the accused without taken the 3 (three) parent parties into confidence and in the event of failure the district administration and the police department would be held solely responsible for any unwanted situation that may arise from the public resentment.

2.         Ex-gratia as compensation must be given to the victim’s father at the earliest.

3.         Random issue ILP to non-locals should end and verification and checking of ILP from time to time be implemented as a pre-emptive measure to control such crime by non-locals in our society.

                Late Roshila’s father, chairperson Ralan Area Eloe Hoho, President RASU, President Kyong Students Union, Chairperson Kyong Eloe Hoho and Chairman Kyong Hoho were the main speakers at the rally.

HIGH  SCHOOL  AREA  FELLOWSHIP  DEDICATION  SERVICE  HELD

 

            Ragazou Christian Fellowship High School Area Kohima dedication service programme was held at crist for the Nation Bible College church on 6th September 2009.   The programme was chaired by President founder of Rugazou Christian Fellowship High School Area. The programme started with invocation prayer by Asenle Kath, opening hymn. Delivering the welcome address President founder of Rugazou Christian Fellowship Elia Koza exhorted the gathering to worship the lord in the beauty of holiness and bow down before God to proclaim his glory. He asked everyone not to fear to enter his court in the slenderness and to be truth in His beauty and love in his tenderness to comfort the sorrow.

            Welcome song by Pangtok praise and worship leader, offertory prayer by Banuo. A Burmese tune presentation by Henong, special praise by Neting and friends, exhortation by Principal CFNBC Martemsu, followed by SDO (R&B) Kohima Daniel Kevie and vote of thanks was proposed by Pastor RCFHA Kohima.
